â€Å"A Worn Path† recounts to a tale about a valiant older African American lady named Phoenix Jackson. Phoenix imperils her life to get a foundation medication for her grandson, who can't completely recuperate due to a lye mishap. She strolls an old worn way called the Old Natchez Trace to the city of Natchez in Mississippi. She experiences a progression of snags on the long excursion on a chilly December morning. As the peruser gets into the story it is evident this isn't the first occasion when she has made this excursion to the city. Phoenix runs into a tracker, who she takes a nickel that drops out of his pocket, since her destitution drives her. This is anticipating for beneficial what might be on the horizon. At the point when the starting the peruser doesn't have the foggiest idea why she is making the excursion since it isn't uncovered until the end. When she contacts her goal she incidentally overlooks why she made the excursion in any case, until reminded by a medical attendant. She is given the cause medication and a nickel for these special seasons. The story finishes on... ... center of paper ... ...appears rethinks herself each time she needs to make that excursion back home. The way that the imagery and this general inferred subject of â€Å"A Worn Path† work together so well together shows the profundity of Welty’s composing style. Despite the fact that the story is basic execution the importance is ageless. Her rehashed ventures mirror the lifetimes she has suffered going to Natchez. â€Å"Phoenix 's emerging from the over-assurance of this culture, as her name infers, is the thing that the peruser comes to appreciate.† (Dilgren, 2014) She is resolved and enduring like a phoenix. She should manage destitution, the agonies of mature age, and racial bias to think about her grandson with a scarred throat. The phoenix integrates with the ageism too on the grounds that the phoenix is an old winged animal, yet wild, simply the like character. The intermittent excursion on the Natchez Trace is just a little piece of her unpredictable story.
